The end is a massive cliffhanger, a part of me is glad to be late to the party with this book, now I don’t have to wait too long for the sequel .. The end was an absolute roller coaster. I will say it didn’t entirely break me like the end of Gleam did, but it had my heart in my throat and screaming and I had to remind myself to breathe WAY more times than once. This cliffhanger is painful and did manage to make me cry like a baby, but with so much left up in the air knowing we’re going into the final chapter and seeing every stage set for that has me CHOMPING AT THE BIT to get my hands on book 5!!! My initial reaction to this book was how it’s mostly filler. However, all of that is what makes the last quarter of this book hit so hard. It sets us up for an ending that will leave you screaming. Raven Kennedy made this hurt so good and now I have to wait a year before I can read the next book in the series. The sun,” Auren answers quietly, tone filled with a tentative, innocent joy. Ok. Whew. First off this book was heavy. You knew coming off of the end of Gleam that this was not going to be a light and breezy book, even on top of Auren still working through a decade of grooming and abuse. You knew her recovery was going to be painful and that this combined with everything else would take time. Every step of her journey, loss, and healing in this book is slow, delicate, careful, heartbreakingly realistic, perfectly depicted, and beautifully handled. There wasn’t a single question, discussion, thought process, or scenario in my mind that the author did not explore which I, as an abuse survivor on the “other side” of life in a healthy and loving relationship, both loved and appreciated SO MUCH. The character development is so fantastic and you get so drawn into your favorite characters and how they change. Once again, Raven Kennedy comes in and twists the story so you never see what’s coming. In this book though, we really get a lot from Slade and his story is both tragic and one of strength. Glow Reading Experience Multiple POV , even if I didn’t care about some characters, I was able to get past my annoyance to be in their thoughts.. Wow, the HANGOVER from this book is legit! I still can't shake it, and my thoughts keeps changing accordingly! and once again the wrath never fail to make me laugh and put a smile on my face, while also being the fiercest and most loyal group ever. i’m obsessed with all of them.

but i’m left with another cliffhanger and i have so many questions. it hurts in the best way and i’m so excited for gold. i already know it’s going to be everything i need and more. Glow is the fourth book in the Plated Prisoner series by Raven Kennedy. I have to say I am upset right now, only because there is a cliffhanger in this book that devastated me and now I have to wait a year before I can find out what happens.Another fantastic book and what an ending setting things up for what I am sure will be an exciting finale! I will admit there were parts of this book that did feel super repetitive and just longggg, however every time I found myself thinking “didn’t I already read something exactly like this” it led to a new point of healing or vital conversation for Auren. You cannot rush healing and oftentimes through healing repetition is how you’re able to find the safe place and the courage needed to process through certain feelings/memories. So I think that’s important to remember as you’re going through this book, especially if you feel it’s beginning to get slightly long winded. Glow was emotional devastation. And. I. Loved. It. Focusing on strong character development rather than in depth plot helped take us on an emotional journey with these characters. Diving deeper into Slade's childhood has been so insightful to him as a man and as a King. The betrayers. The murderers. The ones who nearly destroyed Orea, and wiped out Seventh Kingdom in the process. He has power sizzling beneath this skin and glinting spikes down his spine.
