About this deal

Offiziellecharts.de – Genesis – BBC Broadcasts" (in German). GfK Entertainment Charts. Retrieved 10 March 2023. The BBC also broadcast the 1975 Lamb show from Wembley Arena in a 60 minute set. It would be good if the BBC could dig up the whole concert. Ewing, Jerry (12 January 2023). "Genesis announce five disc BBC box set featuring previously unreleased material". Loudersound . Retrieved 12 January 2023.

The somewhat harsh highs of the BBC original are effectively softened here, otherwise everything is virtually identical. Matrix / Runout (Disc 4): [Universal logo] 3568647 [Universal Logo] AM84429-01 manufactured by optimal media GmbH So these three concerts all belong to the same category. Of these, these pieces have been officially released so far: Rounded out by material from the NEC in 1998 and Paris Theatre and Night Ride sessions from the early 70s, as well as the much sought-after encore version of “Watcher Of The Skies” at Wembley Empire Pool in 1975, Genesis BBC Broadcasts is a veritable treasure trove.Genesis played the last European concerts of their Invisible Touch Tour on four consecutive nights at the sold-out Wembley Stadium in London (1-4 July 1987). The last concert was broadcast live on BBC radio. Excerpts of these concerts first appeared officially in 1988 on the VHS video cassette Invisible Touch Tour, then again in 2003 on the DVD Live at Wembley Stadium. While it was known that all four concerts had been recorded in sound and vision, it was unclear until now which excerpts from which of the four concerts were used for the video and DVD. The In The Cage medley is missing from both editions. Album – Classifica settimanale WK 10 (dal 03.03.2023 al 09.03.2023)" (in Italian). Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana . Retrieved 11 March 2023. The box set is rounded out with performances from the height of the band’s popularity—Wembley in 1987 and the 1992 edition of Knebworth (along with two songs from 1998 featuring Collins’ replacement Ray Wilson). Here, the sense of the band as a global stadium juggernaut becomes almost inescapable. When the ominous, heavily sequenced drone of “Mama” opens the Wembley portion of the program, there’s no longer a sense of a living, breathing band on the other end of your speakers. Across the first three discs, Genesis used size to create a sublime sense of majesty onstage. Here, the scale of the production simply alienates, and listening to this section often feels like being dwarfed while observing a huge, impersonal machine rotate its blades in place. Another one from the Genesis/BBC live archives in which we pose a question that’s been bubbling around a while now: Is there a definitive Genesis live album? and indeed, have Genesis been done justice in their live releases? There have been plenty through the years.

I don't know if they have the rights on the 1976 and 1977 video live performances. If they have, please work on them also... Display MoreWhy the LP set was shortened is unclear. Presumably they didn't want to make the set too expensive and decided to create a best-of of the 5CD set. Matrix / Runout (Disc 2): [Universal logo] 3568645 [Universal Logo] AM84427-01 manufactured by optimal media GmbH I would definitely recommend going for the CD version over the vinyl, since you're paying less for over twice as much content, seems like a no-brainer to me unless you're just interested in record collecting.
