When the United Kingdom agreed to adopt the blue for neutral, brown for live and green/yellow for earth in flexible cables and flexible cords usually used for non-fixed installations e.g. appliances such as fridges, washing machines etc. no move was made to harmonize the colours for fixed installations in homes and other structures. Mixing any of these up and connecting them to the wrong terminal can be catastrophic and potentially deadly, hence the reason we have mentioned this once again!
