About this deal

This allows for targeted protection only from unwanted plant life, with the surrounding flowers and bushes in your garden and around your paving installation completely free from environmentally unsafe chemicals or growth-inhibiting compounds. Problems

To avoid weeds and displacements in the paving, the joint must always be filled to the full height of the joint edge and be completely free of soil and other organic material. The paving is cleaned with a stiff broom and the joints are refilled as needed. Moss and algae can be removed by suitable means. Extreme weather conditions can cause white deposits (efflorescence) in the joints and on the edges of the paving stones. However, they are usually washed off at the next rain shower. The deposits can also be removed by regular cleaning of the stones. We have added a mineral additive to DANSAND ® joint filling sand, DANSAND ® Stone dust and DANSAND Kerama ®. The mineral has a naturally high pH value, which creates a nutrient-poor environment in your joints. The weed seeds dry out and can neither take root nor germinate. Paving stones must be laid on a sustainable gravel and sand layer in accordance with current standards for paving work. The joint material is water-permeable like ordinary joint sand. Therefore, the base layer must also be water-permeable. Repointing Also, the weather and substarate should be dry for the joints to harden completely. The joints do not withstand rain whitin the first 24 hours after pointing. Maybe this is the case? The first option is to replace any lost sand as & when needed with Dansand. Simply put, instead of using ordinary kiln dried joint sand next time you just re-sand the joints of your pavers with Dansand. Sure, you may need to re-sand the joints every two years as the vibrations from cars or heavy footfall may loosen them over time, but with such a simple brush in application, you’ll have this job done in no time at all! Value for money

For the material to work properly, the joint must be made correctly. A properly executed joint is at least 3 mm wide , well-compressed and completely filled to the edge or bevel of the stone. Dansand No Grow is widely available from many popular DIY and hardware retailers, commonly found in 20kg bags that should cover around 5-10 square metres each. Estimated consumption: Approx. 2,0 kg/m 2 at 3 mm joints. Our coverage calculator can help you calculate the amount you need. We recommend a joint height of min. 4 cm when filling your joints to ensure that the roots of the seed do not have enough time to find nourishment, as it will dry out before then.Although Dansand No Grow is more expensive up front than your average dry jointing sand, the long-lasting benefit of its hardened seal offers good value for money. I just jet washed my huge drive, next step is to kill the weeds and then I am looking to fill the huge gaps between the slabs. I am after advice on what to fill it with, keeping in mind the following: The content of the bag should be mixed before sweeping the material into the joints otherwise the binders will not be mixed with the silica sand. Maybe some of your joints have hardened and some of them have not? If so, the binders have probably not been mixed with the silica sand.
