About this deal

When Skylar Allen decided to move across the country for college, she thought it'd be the perfect chance to reinvent herself. I will acknowledge that this book is not for everyone, it discusses self harm which could be triggering for some readers. They have both made mistakes, they both hurt, they both have dreams and want a better life and go about achieving that as best they can. Her mommy and daddy were kinda mean to her so she ran away at 16, then chose to prostitute herself for room and board. A sports romance, some angst, a couple you root for together and alone, side characters you’ll want more of, and a pretty easy read.

Then you pair that with Ivy’s unique back story and character development and you have an all-out home run character. They are both there for a second chance, Ivy to prove she can get her life back on track and Ayden to restart his football track to the NFL after some past troubles. I understand in some ways Ivy needed him to be a bit pushy, but it was just another thing that annoyed me. Celeste does a phenomenal job of representing these challenging issues and giving them the seriousness and credit they’re due.

That friendship becomes a lifeline, and yrs later just when she thought she would never see him again he walks back into her life. This is an emotional story about a girl that lost her way at 16 because of the toxic relationship with her parents. Celeste is a new adult and contemporary romance author that gives voices to raw, realistic characters with emotional storylines that tug on the heartstrings.

I mean… it actually includes a lot of sports references including the team mates, the coach and playing the aforementioned sport. I love this author's flawless writing style, the multi-dimensional characters and the emotional exploration of a complicated situation. It sucked me in from the very beginning and not one moment did I find myself not completely captivated by Ivy and Aiden’s story. All in all this was still a great read from an incredibly talented author and I can't wait to see what she does next! Ivy wasn’t your typical happy-go-lucky character, if anything she was tough and thought of her life as just existing, not living.By completing your purchase, you agree to Audible's Conditions of Use and authorise Audible to charge your designated card or any other card on file. If you're a fan of angsty, raw, and real stories that just isn't only filled with good romance but also about life and the strength of family, this might be for you. So the night I snuck out of his bedroom window after hugging him goodbye, I’d accepted I’d probably never see him again.

Ivy and Aiden truly got their chance at a life together and I’m always a sucker for good epilogue which this book delivered on.

His only goal in life right now is football, but when his best friend comes back into his life, he can't resist getting to know her again. Dare You To Hate Me was an emotional journey through my own self-reflection with issues I’ve dealt with in the past and an amazingly well written story about the lives of Ivy and Aiden and everyone else in their lives. Aiden was a boy that you could count on him and he was the world to Ivy, even though she didn't want to admit it! Oh boy was I wrong, right away from the few first pages, I got this feeling within me that I was going to love this book, and the premise of the book intrigued me. Ivy finally has her life back on track and the last thing she expected was to run into the boy who turned her away.

Someone once said that if you liked the Off Campus/Briar U series By: Elle Kennedy or just sports romances in general, you would like this book, and let me just say this book exceeded my expectations and more! she tends to also put herself down a lot which is a bad thing ofc but i think at some point in the book i started wondering if she even wanted help at all?In addition, for all those times when it seemed like Ivy was so closed off from others, she was actually a selfless and kind person. This book was truly an amazing read, and while there are certain other sports romances that were great, this one really dug deep into the emotional and mental aspects of what Ivy experienced. Now Ivy was also an interesting character but I think that I got a bit bored after a while and that there wasn’t enough tension?
