About this deal

Just like the classic black dress she created, the author not only added his own predict of why she make this artwork, but also added small details on each part of dress, and Chanel's first perfume, No5, 5 is her lucky number, which is also the origin of the name of this perfume. People slowly found something good of this brand and Chanel: beauty, stubborn, passionate, cold…In fact, after world war II, many people regard Chanel as a role model because of her financial independence, she is different from other women, the everything she have is her accumulation for whole life. It intrigued me to read that Coco Chanel’s favourite novel was ‘Wuthering Heights’, and that the austerity of the convent was a major influence on her design.

However, as newly declassified information reveals, she did not supply any information in exchange for this favour. I think that was the focus of my dislike of the book: very little on the woman herself, with far too much about friends, family, business associates, and acquaintances. Those stories, also fully explained care and time pay for her each work, this is also the reason why she became the representative of fashion. She holds a BA in Journalism, Film and Media and a Post Graduate Diploma in Magazine Journalism from Cardiff University. Using timelines, maps, repeated motifs and many more beautiful and informative illustrations, readers learn not just about the main subject of the book but also about the cultural background of the time they lived in.Chanel is a luxury company that focuses on high fashion and ready-made clothes, luxury products, and accessories and the person behind the company, Coco Chanel really is a mystery and a wonder wrapped in a petite frame of a woman with a spirit of steel. During the Second World War, Chanel closed her couture house, but accepted the enemy’s help in rescuing her beloved nephew from a prison camp. Her name was Coco Chanel, and her couture creations revolutionized women’s fashion, winning fans around the world.

Simon examines the world both reflected and shaped by Chanel, setting her life and work within the context of events in France and America from before the First World War to the profound social changes of the 1960s. At one point, it seemed as though quite a few pages had been dedicated to the wife of a lover and, try as I might, I failed to grasp as to why this information was necessary to the book, as it apparently had no bearing on Chanel's life itself. Charlie’s beautiful and socially prominent girlfriend soon begins wearing Schiaparelli’s designs as well, and much of Paris follows in her footsteps. What a woman for one woman totally fascinating story from beginning to end she had such charm and charisma I really enjoyed this book and can highly recommend. She was born into a poor family and was abandoned into an orphanage y her father when her mother dies.It was a book focussed on revealing truth and facts, and I learned some things about Chanel I had not known before.

Desk and exam copies of certain titles are available to lecturers who wish to consider books as course texts. This book provided a great background of her life, which covered her fashion firsts, fashion influences, her childhood, her lovers. This moving book features stylish and quirky illustrations and extra facts at the back, including a biographical timeline with historical photos and a detailed profile of the designer’s life. However, the book was rambling, lacking in facts and I got no insight into the creative side of Chanel's life (apart from her creativity with her life story). And which also the origin of her nickname “Coco Chanel,” Chanel won more than just a name at the concert hall. With anti-Semitism on the rise, he has escaped to the United States with the confidential formula for Chanel No.

In a time when children were meant to be seen and not heard, along came Coco, a small French orphan with an eye for style, a talent for sewing, and a big imagination. All of the main points were covered with impeccable information and written in a way that I could not put this book down. It's meant to be immersive and to help the readers understand more about this controversial figure, who, for me, turned out to be equally fascinating and unsympathetic. But underneath it all she was a helpless romantic who just wanted to be known to the world and loved. The book is well written and I liked the memories that were imparted from the people who knew and loved her and they have shown a lot about her character and what she was really like below the surface. She was a determined lady with strong beliefs and a fabulous artistic ability, I loved that as well as changing the fashion world as it was known at the time, she was also sponsoring artists to help them bloom and develop. Meet Ella Fitzgerald, First Lady of Song who once said, "It's not where you come from, but where you're going that counts.
