This lovely 12 Year Old expression from the tall stills of the Isle of Jura Distillery is exceptionally soft and smooth and you should enjoy it neat from a good quality tumbler with a dash of water to open up its complexity. This 12 year old spends most of that time mellowing in American ex-bourbon casks before the finishing takes place in oloroso sherry butts. Crafted in exceptionally tall stills, matured for 12 years in American White Oak ex-bourbon barrels and the fresh sea air with a further enhancement from the finest aged oloroso sherry casks. But back then I liked Jura and even enjoyed it as an easy drinking whisky with just a touch of smoke.

Whilst the market is there for it, they’re going to continue producing whisky in a style to supply it, and that’s OK.
